A total of 1,800 youngsters were enrolled in TGPR 2015. International teams sent 898 birds, a drop of only two birds from last year total while 912 birds made up for the local teams. Due to the occurrence of AIV in the United States, we missed the participation from USA. The same problem also happened in some European countries making it difficult to export the pigeons until the situation was improved. This affected the quantity of potential entrants and shipping schedule. Shipment from England and the continent arrived in July. Dominating the field are the 440 birds form five Middle East states namely Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Egypt. China ranks second sending 172 birds and followed closely 159 birds from UK. Europe (Belgium, France, Holland and Spain) sent 127 birds, a significant drop due to the problem cited above coupled with the unhealthy economic situation. Thanks to the great effort of all our foreign coordinators, our planned target of 1800 birds has been met. Needless to say, we are appreciative of the support and trust that all participants, local and foreign, have bestowed on our race.
By this time, those who have visited Benzing OLR website should have noticed that a new racing software have been installed at our racing loft and at Benzing’s OLR website screen as well.
