Having gone through 12 training flights including two from 60 km when the birds did well in relative good weather, we changed our schedule yesterday going to the 90 km point instead of repeating at the 60 km station as was announced earlier. The weather at the liberating station was not as good as we would expect. The sun was behind the cloudy sky with poor visibility. The liberator waited until 8.00 am when there was more light and the birds were released in small batches not in one go altogether as had been planned. On the way back, our transporter reported foggy air with light rains along the route. In Bangkok city the condition was not better and one could not see anything beyond 4 km or so. The good side was the temperature was not so warm and the light rain should not be a big problem, The first batch of about 20 birds arrived and timed in at 9.12.34 after spending a few more minutes circling around the loft. At the end of the day, 1338 birds made it home from 1527 originally basketed before the first training. This flight was indeed a real test for the pigeon in wet and foggy condition with the starting speed of 1240 mpm.
